This is not to be confused with the single album compilation of the same name, The George Carlin Collection (1984), released in the 1980s. This is rather a DVD box set containing his first four HBO specials, plus the retrospective special Personal Favorites (1996). I think this set also marked the first time that his first two 1970s specials had ever been released on any home video format.
